From MyNews user Erick Sodhi: Early Thanksgiving Monday afternoon a tour bus and SUV collided at the intersection of O'Connor and Waverley in downtown Ottawa. The bus was empty other than the driver. Fortunately no one was injured.

In May 2000, the remains of an unidentified Canadian soldier who died in the First World War were repatriated from France and, with great ceremony, were buried in a special tomb in front of the National War Memorial in Ottawa. The Unknown Soldier represents all Canadians who died or may die for their country in all conflicts - past, present, and future. Read Article

On Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, at around 4 p.m., a truck caught on fire along Highway 416 in Fallowfield, Ont. Nobody was injured and according to the driver, it was an electrical issue that sparked the fire. Fallowfield is a small village in the city of Ottawa.

Rising in the east at sunset, Jupiter is presently 603 million kilometres from Earth. If you have a telescope, take a look at this, the king of planets. This photo taken from my backyard observatory shows its lovely cloud structure and three of the four Galilean moon that can be seen.
